Alec Baldwin & George Takei

Hello folks,

Sorry I've missed 1 (2?) weekly posts. Computer problems :(

Anyhoo... I would like to just briefly mention the two men-of-the-moment above.

First on A. Baldwin: Hmmm...but hmmm again! All info up to his recent book is not that interesting for me. But his Chapter 3...mannn, it's good. Very touching. It's a free read on Yahoo Shine.

[Kimo also knows of A. Baldwin through "Cat in the Hat" movie; his character gritting teeth and wincing is oh-so hillarious, beats me! :)]

Next - G. Takei: Oh my, but I teared up reading his marriage vows..."...in the September of my life..." indeed. A 21-year old relationship!! Officializing it all after that, astounding!!! I think his vows, I read of off his homepage? E-online?

[Kimo is not exposed to G. Takei's acting. Takei's laugh is full-bodied; gregarious to the hilt!]

I think this is all for now, folks. I've not been having any brainy crumbs to share of late. But will be back soon, and with more zest! ;) [I just badly need to get this project I have been mothering to mature, if I get to do so by this weekend...!]

Yours truly

A moment at a time

I've asked Wendell, if he remembers what life was like when there were just the two of us. And he said, emphatically, "I don't remember anything!".

Then, out of curiosity the other day, I googled Salma Hayek. (1) I was curious about her having a baby - Who's the baby daddy?? (2) I was curious if pregnancy weight had done a number on her svelte bod.

I was pleasantly surprised that, as Wendell, Salma said "I don't remember anything!" to that "What was life like before baby?" question.

Well, I guess Wendell and I aren't odd or special at all. Just pleasantly normal.

Speaking of the baby, Kimo is finally trying to be a big-boy at the potty. After several attempts, we have had one successful poop try, several pee-pee excursions and several more "no poo-poo; also no pee-pee" visits to the loo. Kimo does his "no"/"no more" about-hand-flips to indicate.

And that was the highlight of the week gone by... just trying to live it moment by moment...

Oh yes, and someone woke up early in the morning, one morning past, toddling very quickly to the kitchen, for food, I guess. Before I could hop out of bed and land running, I saw this person holding a loaf of bread with a noticeable piece of bread missing. To be exact, the damage done to the bread was in the shape of a small bite-mark. The hand-flipper~potty-tryer was guilty as charged!:)

On 'Identity'

Hello readers,

Sorry, I missed last week's post. My/Our laptop crashed, hence my temporary ex-communnicado with you all :)

I am currently researching the topic of identity for academic purposes, and find that it has tons of personal benefits. Being that I love to talk and wax lyrical on so many pet issues, identity topic included, I see no end to the "search" for identity.

Speaking of "search", I'd like to share some of the ways that I note how people are thinking of (their) identity, or about Identity in general:

(1) Identity is a journey: A beginning and an end, in which at this point in time, your present circumstances can predict the kind of ending your identity will have.

(2) Identity is a portrait: There is a "before" look and an "after" look. You can also predict a "10 years from now" look.

(3) Identity is permanent: One is born with a solid identity, one can only enhance qualities of it but not add to it; lest you stain its purity.

(4) Identity can be lost: Here today, and suddenly gone tomorrow.

(5) Identity can be in a [perpetual] state of "becoming lost": Going, going, going...aaand...oops, almost gone and going, going, going...aand...oops, almost gone again...

(6) Identity can be wasted: All that identity, in the form of cultural (and language) expression, residing within a person, has a shelf-life, to which one day, you can no longer use your identity, since it can no longer relate, or be of any use.

I'm in no position to advocate any of the stances above, nor do I wish to be an advocate of a particular way of sensing your own identity! Far be it from me! :)

Just thought you brainiacs out there (you, thought-foodies) might enjoy another Trixie moment.

On a personal level, Wendell began to wax lyrical on his own musings on Asian women with western persona and their identities blah-blah-blah...how interesting, as I've at times cobbled his brain with my barrage of inquisitive info...and yet, this topic on identity + women sustains my continued cobbling... I'd better take advantage then :)

p/s Kimo, the wonder-boy, is now into watching "Shrek" and "Barnyard Animals".
